Zelensky Triggers Trump, Got Schooled Hard Way
Resistance of Ukraine ruling elites' is another obstacle in designing a peace deal.
On Wednesday, February 19, the United States and Ukraine all of a sudden plunged into the deepest diplomatic calamity unseen since they established mutually respectful relations in the early 90s. The crisis began with a random, seemingly neutral phrase dropped for the press by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Istanbul, Turkey when he—frustrated and tired—stopped on his way home from the United Arab Emirates.
“Unfortunately, President Trump – I have great respect for him as a leader of a nation that we have great respect for, the American people who always support us – unfortunately lives in this [Russian] disinformation space… We have seen this disinformation. We understand that it is coming from Russia,” he said.
